Girls Weekend

For the Girls “Martinis & Bikinis" weekend in San Diego, the event planning process was all about creating a fun, laid-back itinerary for a group of friends to relax and enjoy a few days in the sun. Here's a breakdown of how I planned the event and designed the itinerary:

Event Planning:

1. The Itinerary: The weekend was filled with a mix of beach time, delicious meals, and some light adventure. I created a detailed schedule, with plenty of free time for relaxation while making sure the group had key activities lined up to make the most of their time in San Diego:

  • Thursday: Arrival in San Diego with a relaxed day of exploring Little Italy, grabbing cocktails at local spots, and enjoying a waterfront dinner at Brigantine.

  • Friday: Beach day at La Jolla Shores followed by sunset sailing and a delicious dinner at C Level Lounge for the perfect end to the day.

  • Saturday: A morning hike on Annie Canyon Trail, a visit to the Little Italy Farmers Market, and an evening of poolside lounging before dinner at JRDN, set with a view of the sunset.

2. Venue & Activity Choices: Each day featured activities that struck a balance between fun, local experiences and some downtime. From sunset cruises to brunch at trendy spots like Morning Glory, every moment was planned to offer the perfect blend of activity and relaxation. The venues chosen, including those in Little Italy and along the coast, were all within walking distance from the Airbnb to make the weekend feel easy and carefree.

3. Special Touches: One of my favorite details was incorporating Billie’s Dirty Martini Recipe into the invitation design. It added a playful and personalized element to the weekend, setting the tone for a relaxed, cocktail-filled escape. Custom graphics, like the one featuring Billie, added a fun and stylish vibe to the event materials, including itineraries and envelopes.

Design:

The invitation and itinerary were designed with a sleek, beachy feel, featuring calming greens and playful martini-themed graphics. Each day of the weekend was clearly outlined, with recommendations for restaurants, activities, and important meeting points. The custom envelope seals and martini theme throughout made the whole weekend feel like a special, well-curated experience from start to finish.
